In Memoriam, Brandon Lee Peretti

American Receivable Corporation lost a beloved member of its family, Brandon Lee Peretti, Friday, June 10, 2016.

Brandon began working at American Receivable while just a teen in high school and later as a full time staff member over-seeing deposit operations and customer relations.  Brandon remained with American Receivable for many years until becoming the sales manager for a national merchant services and e-commerce firm.

Brandon’s infectious smile and warm engaging personality made him a natural in the sales industry.  He excelled in his new position setting up operations and training for the company’s offices nationally.

Brandon’s love and friendship will forever remain a part of American Receivable Corporation.

Brandon is survived by his wife, Tanya, daughters Kennedy and Kenzie and mother Pam Rodden as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

Congratulations are in order for our very own Tiffany Strasner and husband Jeff Strasner! They welcomed a baby girl into their family this past weekend.

Mommy and baby are doing great and are settling in at home!

North Dallas Chamber 3rd Annual Big D BBQ Battle

This years third annual Big D BBQ Battle sponsored by the North Dallas Chamber of Commerce and Cafe Momentum, kicked off with the sun in the sky and no rain in sight!

The event was held on Friday, April 29, 2016 at the Valley View Center at Midtown. Participants began setting up their grilling areas Thursday afternoon with an array of secret recipe edibles to enter in their contest. American Receivable and brad Gurney are members of the North Dallas Chamber.

American Receivable Supports Bryan’s House

The Young Risk Management Association, North Texas Chapter, (YRMA) partnered with Bryan’s House on December 3rd for its annual Tacky Sweater Party to help raise funds toward its mission. American Receivable donated items to the event in order to help YRMA raise money for the organization. All proceeds of the event went to Bryan’s House. Attendees also had the opportunity to bring unwrapped toys as well as sign up to volunteer at Cookies for Santa on December 5^th. The mission of Bryan’s House is to serve children with medical or developmental needs and their families by providing specialized child care, respite care and social services.

The Risk Management Association (RMA), founded in 1914, is a not-for-profit, member-driven professional association serving the financial services industry. Today, RMA has approximately 2,600 institutional members. These include banks of all sizes as well as nonbank financial institutions. Chapters are run by RMA Associates on a volunteer basis and they provide members with opportunities in their local communities for education, training, and networking throughout all stages of their financial services career. YRMA is the division of RMA which consists of early career individuals to help raise awareness about RMA and provide young professionals in the risk community a chance to network with each other.

Texas Veterans Business Summit

Our very own Brad Gurney attended the 5^th annual Texas Veterans Business Summit that was held at the Dallas Central Library on November 12, 2015. Approximately 150 to 200 veterans interested in starting or growing a business were in attendance.

The opening session consisted of remarks by Major General James Williams, USMC ret Honorary Chairman of the Summit and entrepreneur; Marine veteran Ryan Holloway owner of Holloway Benefit Concepts and co-founder of the monthly Veterans in Business luncheon; Army Veteran John Avila owner of Thomas Bryne construction company; Air Force Veteran Luther Branham Dallas Market President of the Lift Fund.

Following the opening session were two concurrent workshops. The workshops feature 20 veteran entrepreneurs and 4 business experts including aware winning Marine Veteran entrepreneur Alex Fender who is the founder of Funnel Science; Mark Anthony Pagea Navy Veteran; Wayne Huddleston, an Army Veteran representing the Small Business Administration.

Tiffany Strasner supports alumni at the Texas Tech Quarterly Business Briefing Luncheon

The Texas Tech Quarterly Business Briefing Luncheon (“TTQBB”) was held Friday October  2, 2015 at the Dallas County Club. The TTQBB is a series of four events held in Dallas each year that provides opportunities for Texas Tech alumni to meet one another, hear from prominent guest speakers and raise money for scholarships for deserving Dallas County students attending Texas Tech.

Over the past five years, the TTQBB has raised more than $250,000 for scholarships and is the largest fundraising event put on by any Texas Tech alumni chapter in the nation. This quarter’s guest Speaker for the TTQBB was Robert Duncan, the current Chancellor of the Texas Tech University System.

Tiffany Strasner, Vice President of Business Development for American Receivable Corporation is a graduate of Texas Tech, as well as, a very active alumni association member. Tiffany serves on this year’s business briefing committee and was the event coordinator for this luncheon.

In Search of Capital

Brad Gurney, Senior Vice President of American Receivable Corporation was a panel participant for the North Dallas Chamber of Commerce’s  1st Tuesday Connection Series "In Search of Capital: How to Finance a Company's Growth" held October 6^th at the Wyndham Dallas Suites.

The First Tuesday Connection Series meets monthly and highlights industry experts who offer current information that the business person can put to practical use, as well as, an opportunity to network.  The speakers explore timely business issues and are available immediately following the seminar for questions.

Deal Day Dallas 2015


The Dallas Metropolitan SBDC in partnership with the North Texas Association of Government Guaranteed Lenders (NTAGGL), held their 2015 Deal Day Conference Tuesday, September 2nd.  More than 30 lenders and financial institutions were on hand to meet with businesses about their particular financing needs.  Attendees were able to ask questions, compare rates and find funding for an established or start-up business.

North Dallas Chamber 2nd annual Big D BBQ Battle continues......
 

Rainy weather didn't dampen the spirits for the participants in this years second annual Big D BBQ Battle sponsored by the North Dallas Chamber of Commerce and benefiting the North Texas Food Bank and Cafe Momentum.

The event was held Friday, April 24, 2015 at the Valley View Center at Midtown .  Participants began setting up their grilling areas Thursday afternoon with an array of secret recipe edibles to enter in the contest.  American Receivable and Brad Gurney are members of the North Dallas Chamber and Jack Stieber, President of American Receivable was a contest judge this year.

It was a great time for all participants and attendees and support of two very worthy causes. 

Ladies Day at American Receivable....

It was ladies day for the gals of American Receivable February 19, 2015.  Jack Stieber, President of American Receivable and Brad Gurney, Senior Vice President treated the ladies to a scrumptious lunch and and afternoon off for Valentine's Day.  

"We are lucky to work with such thoughtful people" Anne Capps, Executive Vice President said.  "It's not often we are able to spend a measurable amount of time out of our office on such a splurge much less with all the ladies".

American Receivable Corporation helped sponsor a a family themed cancer fundraiser Saturday, January 10, 2015.  Jack Stieber, President of American Receivable, Brad Gurney, Sr. Vice President and Stacie Durman, Account Executive were on had for this day long event. 

Organized and hosted by an American Receivable Corporation client,  the day included a silent auction, games and a special area of kids, a casino area for adults as well as great food and and other refreshments. 

Proceed from the event benefited the Cancer Support Community of North Texas.

Tiffany Strasner, Vice President of Business Development participated in the North Dallas Chamber of Commerce 1st Tuesday Connection , Tuesday, January 6, 2015.

1st Tuesday Connections is a Dallas-area networking program focused on business owners in North Texas. Their monthly panel discussions cover topics including technology, human resources, tax, charity and finances.

The January 6th session was titled, “How to Become a ‘Conscious Capitalist’ and Out perform Your Competition”.

The session introduced the Conscious Capitalism movement and gave insights into how to use the concepts to meet the challenges of your business.
 

Spreading the Christmas Spirit

Cindy and Jack Stieber spread the Christmas spirit as Meals on Wheels volunteers Christmas Day. 

In addition to the holiday meal delivery a stocking full of goodies was provided to each client.  "Delivering to individuals that are home bound or have no family close by made the day even more special" Jack said. 

Jack, president of American Receivable and the company have been active volunteers with the Visiting Nurses Association/ Meals on Wheels for some time.  Giving back to the community and helping those in need is practiced every day at American Receivable. 

 

The North Dallas Chamber of Commerce held it's annual holiday party and toy drive Thursday, December 11, 2014 at the Hilton Anatole Hotel.  Brad Gurney, Executive Vice President represented American Receivable Corporation at this years event.  Brad and American Receivable have been actively involved with the North Dallas Chamber for well over 20 years and support the community and civic work they do.

Toys and donations from this years event support Santa Cops of Dallas who assist members of the community that have been victims or crime.

The SPCA of Texas is the leading animal welfare agency in North Texas with two shelters and three spay/neuter clinics located in Dallas and McKinney. It serves as an active resource center providing an array of programs and services that bring people and animals together. The agency serves all the metro DFW area.

Stacie Durman volunteers for St. Jude "Give Thanks Walk 2014" in Dallas....

Despite rainy, cool weather, the St. Jude Research Hospital for Children "Give Thanks Walk 2014" went off as scheduled in Dallas Saturday morning, November 22, 2014.  Stacie Durman, Account Executive with American Receivable gave her time to assist runners, walkers and families who were participating in the event. 

More than 65 communities across the country took part in the family-friendly event that helped raise much needed funds to support the lifesaving mission of St. Jude's Research Hospital for Children. 

American Receivable is a long time supporter of St. Jude and the groundbreaking medical care they provide.   American Receivable is proud to have Stacie volunteer her time with this fine institution.

Anne Capps, Made Paul Harris Fellow


Anne Capps, Executive Vice President of American Receivable Corporation was recently made a Paul Harris Fellow by The Rotary Foundation of International Rotary for her continued efforts and support in eradicating polio world wide and the furtherance of education and relations among people of the world. 

Anne is an active member of the Addison Rotary Club addisonrotary.org as well as a Board member. 

The Governor's Small Business Forum (GSBF) was held in Arlington at the Convention Center on Wednesday October 29, 2014. GSBF, sponsored by the Texas Governor's Office, the Texas Workforce Commission, the Arlington Chamber and local partners, are designed to give entrepreneurs and small businesses valuable tools, skills, and knowledge needed to thrive in today's fast-paced economy. Featuring a wide range of instructive seminars and expert speakers offering vital information on both public and private resources, the forum provides a great opportunity to network and connect with industry specialists, government officials, service providers, and other regional businesses. Brad Gurney, Senior Vice President of American Receivable Corporation was a panel participant providing information and options on access to funding and capital.
